A section of Daisy Street to Close to Traffic

Due to the rain earlier this week, Daisy Street will remain open until Monday, Feb 5. Pipeline Utilities is focusing their efforts to the paving and reopening of Dixie Trail. 

Beginning on Monday, Feb. 5, Daisy Street will close to traffic as part of the Hillsborough Street Renewal Project. The closure will include the intersection of Hillsborough Street to approximately 170 feet north of the intersection. The street is scheduled to reopen this spring.

Weekend Through Traffic Detour is Scheduled, Starting Jan. 27

Beginning on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 6 a.m., Hillsborough Street between Brooks Avenue and Faircloth Street will be closed to through traffic as part of construction related to the Hillsborough Street Renewal Project. This street is scheduled to reopen on Monday, Jan. 29, at 6 a.m.

Despite the construction, businesses along the Hillsborough Street corridor remain open. Patrons can still visit their favorite restaurant, shop or other business as access to these businesses is being maintained.

 

Dixie Trail to Remain Closed Through January 2018

The contractor has requested an extension for the Dixie Trail closure. Dixie Trial at Hillsborough Street is now scheduled to reopen on February 2, 2018. 

At the time of the original road closure request the storm drain system was being redesigned due to some unforeseen conflicts with the original design. Now that Pipeline Utilities has the new storm drain design the work on Dixie Trail can continue. 

During the closure, the new storm drain system will be installed along with the new curb and gutter and pavement.

Nighttime Hillsborough Street Detours

Starting Monday night, Oct. 16 there will be a series of nighttime through traffic detours on Hillsborough Street to accommodate work related to the Hillsborough Street Phase II Project.

Dixie Trail to Close at Hillsborough Street

Starting Monday, Oct. 9, through Sunday, Nov. 19, Dixie Trail will close to vehicular traffic at Hillsborough Street to accommodate work related to the Hillsborough Street Phase II Project.

The City’s contractor is scheduled to install sanitary sewer and water mains, Storm drains, and the telecommunication and electrical duct bank located at the Dixie Trail intersection.

Hillsborough Street Closed to Through Traffic Sept. 19 - Sept. 21

Pipeline Utilities will have a nighttime through traffic detour of Hillsborough Street starting Tuesday night, Sept. 19, through Thursday night, Sept. 21. The street will be closed to through traffic from Dixie Trail to Faircloth Street, while the night crew installs a water main across Hillsborough Street just west of Stanhope Avenue.

The contractor is putting the nighttime detour in place to avoid a full weekend closure of Hillsborough Street. The detour will be put in place each night at 7:30 p.m. and will reopen to through traffic each morning at 6 a.m. 

Nighttime Detours

Pipeline Utilities has requested a nighttime through traffic detour of Hillsborough Street for Sunday night Sept. 10, through Friday night, Sept. 15. Due to the rain last week and some unforeseen utility conflicts they were not able to complete all planned work during last week’s detour.

During the detour, crews will continue work on the sanitary sewer services between Rosemary Street and Dixie Trail.  

The detour will be put in place each night at 8 p.m. and will reopen to through traffic each morning at 6 a.m.

Hillsborough Street is scheduled to be closed to through traffic during the nighttime hours starting Tuesday, Sept. 5, through Thursday, Sept. 7, while a crew installs sanitary sewer services across Hillsborough Street between Rosemary Street and Dixie Trail. 

Through traffic along Hillsborough Street will be detoured. Westbound through traffic will be detoured to Dixie Trail to Wade Avenue to Faircloth Street, and eastbound traffic will be detoured to Faircloth Street to Wade Avenue to Dixie Trail.
